Manual option
Choosing a manual gate is the most cost‑effective option and still gives you a smart, attractive entrance. However, if you decide to automate it in the future, remember that the existing handles and lock barrels will need to be removed or adapted to work with the new system.
Slinding automated option
Automated sliding gates offer a sleek, modern look and make a strong first impression. If you have a narrow driveway but enough space along the fence line, a sliding gate is a great option, as it moves sideways instead of swinging in or out, saving valuable space while still giving you secure, easy access.
Swing automated option (Sub motors)
If you have enough space on your driveway, a double swing gate is usually the most popular choice. It gives a classic, welcoming look and works especially well for wider openings. When it comes to automation, underground sub motors are always our first choice. They’re not the cheapest option, but they are by far the most durable and discreet installation, giving you a long‑lasting, reliable system.
Swing automated option (Ram motors)
Ram-type motors are usually the more affordable option for automating gates, especially if you already have a gate installed. However, they can slightly affect the look of the gate when viewed from the inside, as the motors are more visible. The big advantage is that ram motors make it much easier and more cost‑effective to automate an existing gate without needing major changes to the structure.
Cantilever automated option (Domestic)
Cantilever gates are a great option for domestic driveways because they don’t need a guide rail on the ground, so there’s nothing to get jammed with stones, leaves or other debris. The downside is that they are usually more expensive, not only to buy but also to install, as they need a strong concrete foundation to support the gate. If you have the space and budget, though, a cantilever gate is a clean, reliable and low‑maintenance choice.
Cantilever automated option (Commercial)
A commercial cantilever gate is an excellent choice when you need high security with a clean, professional look. Because the gate is supported from the side rather than running on a ground track, it operates smoothly and reliably, even in busy or uneven yard areas. You can choose from different infill styles and finishes to match your existing fencing or branding, creating a seamless perimeter line. Cantilever gates are also ideal for wide entrances and frequent use, making them a strong, low‑maintenance solution for commercial and industrial sites.
